Mike Pence formally accustomed the Republican vice-presidential nomination final night, vowing that a second term of the Trump administration would "make America great once again, over again". Pence continued to peddle the apocalyptic vision of a Biden presidency which has come to dominate the political party's convention, claiming that "the hard truth is you won't be safety in Joe Biden's America".

Sports stars from fields including basketball, lawn tennis, baseball, and soccer boycotted games in protest confronting the shooting of Blake. The NBA was among the leagues forced to reschedule their Wed nighttime games after the Milwaukee Bucks boycotted their playoff, while Milwaukee's baseball team, the Brewers, besides refused to play in protestation against the shooting that happened in Kenosha, Wisconsin, xl miles from Milwaukee.

The WNBA also postponed its Wednesday games, while matches at the Western & Southern Open tennis tournament will also be suspended on Thursday. The Fox News host Tucker Carlson came under fire for defending a 17-year-old who has been charged with murder later two people were shot dead during unrest in Kenosha over the shooting of Blake by law. Carlson suggested the killings were understandable, and blamed Kenosha authorities for "abandoning" the urban center and "watching it fire".

Police said the teenager had come to Kenosha to confront Blackness Lives Matter protesters, and early reports suggest he considered himself a militia member there to protect property. White citizen militia groups have been patrolling the streets of Kenosha in recent days. Facebook confirmed on Wednesday it had taken down the page of the militia group "Kenosha Baby-sit", where its members had seemingly been organising, with posts only hours before the fatal shooting request: "Whatever patriots willing to take upwards artillery and defend our city this evening from evil thugs?"
